The novel Danny the Champion of the world is written by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake . Roald Dahl was born in 1916 in Wales, England, but his parents were Norwegian. He was educated in England before he started working for Shell Oil Company in Africa. Later he started writing and became an author. Roald Dahl died in 1990 at the age of seventy-four. He has written lots of books for children and he uses a lot of humour when he writes. One thing that recognises his books is that he has many surprising ways of solving problems. Many of his books has been filmed, books like The Witches, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda. There has also been made a film of the novel I have read.
